We first met Christina and Frankie about a year ago and instantly loved them. They are just that kind of couple that you want to be around because of how magnetic their personalities are. It was the exact same way on their wedding day. For those of you who've tied the knot before, you know how stressful a day like this can be but I assure you, there wasn't one moment where I saw Christina and Frankie not smiling.
To say we enjoyed this wedding is an understatement... Thank you to the two of you, your families, and friends. It was so great to spend the day with you all on such a fabulous day.

Ellen Marie + Anthony were such a fun couple to work with. We started the day with their family before heading out to the very historic Old St. Mary's church. We had a blast just walking around Washington Square with the two of them for pictures before heading to the amazingly decorated Curtis Center. We had the pleasure of traveling from Philadelphia to the North Fork of Long Island recently to film Jillian + Joe's wedding. Joe's family and friends made the 10,000 mile trek all the way from Australia to the gorgeous locale where they were united. The Old Field Vineyards was the perfect backdrop for the reception. Despite the storms and rain all week, the weather turned around just in time for their wedding day. From Joe's emotions as he saw his bride-to-be walking down the aisle, to the vineyard complete with a private beach, this was a truly unique and unforgettable day. I can't lie... I was SO excited about Carrie + Mike's wedding! First of all, we share the same taste in music which just makes editing their film so much more fun but they also were able to incorporate some very unique elements into their day. One of my favorite things was that Mike's grandfather performed their ceremony... How much more special can you make your ceremony! Now, Carrie + Mike's reception was quite the party! From their friend getting on stage and singing to a night full of dancing, it was a ton of fun!

This two day event was chock-full of beautiful decor and heart felt emotion.She spent two years planning every detail of the wedding to be the most traditional Hindu Bengali wedding it could be with some adaptations to reflect what is essential in their lives today.The details of each wedding day are what makes them unique and personal. We take the extra time to get to know our couples personally and what is most important to them. The days leading up to Julie and Patrik's wedding weren't easy. Philadelphia was covered in rain for days and all the months of planning for things like outdoor pictures started to look impossible. Saturday came and somehow, between two straight weeks of rain, on the day these two got married the rain stopped.

We had a great time with Julie + Patrick... Between the vintage Volkswagen and the unexpected good weather, everything was just right.

I think what I love the most about Dani + Mike is that they are probably one of the funnest couples we've ever had the pleasure of working with. Honestly, probably 75% of the time we spent with them was spent laughing... The first time we met them we walked away feeling like we had known them for years. They're just the kind of couple that you want to keep hanging out with.

Dani + Mike, it was so great to be a part of your day. We can't wait till you come to Philly and we can get together again :)

Downtime = A Perfect Time for Education

January has always been a slow month for us... It's a time for us to take a look back at the past year and plan ahead for the coming year but ever since last year, January has gotten very interesting. IN[FOCUS] is a 3 day workshop for wedding filmmakers that all share the same goal, be inspired + be educated. As I've mentioned in past posts, we are huge fans of constantly pursuing education. Everyone knows that as soon as you stop striving to be a better artist, you'll stop growing and, for us, we are constantly reminding ourselves of that. Of course, Jon and I have started hosting our own events under the Canon Filmmakers brand but it's great to check out all the other great educational events going on around the world. We are super excited about this one... IN[FOCUS] will be in my hometown of New Orleans on January 24th-26th. We can't wait!

In the meantime, we're headed to London for some fun and then to New York for what should be an amazing wedding at the Bowery Hotel with our new friends Mike + Danielle. One more stop before New Orleans in Minnesota for another wedding with an awesome couple at a very cool location, Spill The Wine.

Regardless of the details that helped perfect their day, Melissa + Adam had a truly admirable connection... It's the kind of energy anyone can feel in a room... Perhaps it's the history.

We first met the best man at a local concert. One of my friend's asked us to come out and film a show... Turns out the best man is quite the guitarist! We had so much fun! We obviously love filming weddings but we also love other genres whether it's a documentary or a rock concert :)
At the time, we hadn't met Sheila + Dan yet, only his brother. We didn't even know they were getting ready to tie the knot but we're thrilled they invited us to be a part of their day.

Sheila + Dan you two were a pleasure to work with. Thanks so much for being an amazing couple. You really do know how to throw a great party :)

It's not that often that you come across a couple that really moves you. Whether it's their chemistry, culture, or just the fact that you had a great time with them, something about that couple just stands out. For us, Naeema + Taha were just that. After spending three days with them, we began to feel as if we were family and we're so glad they invited us to their wedding.

The three day event was filled with a mixture of personal style + traditions. From the decor at the Nikah ceremony to the cuisine at the reception, Naeema and Taha's wedding was unforgettable.

One of our many favorite parts was the kids... I can't tell you how many times we had an adorable three year old come up to us and ask us to take his picture. Funny thing was, as soon as we told him we were shooting video, he ran away yelling "Don't shoot video at me!" Super cute!

I can't lie, by the end of the third day we were sad to say goodbye.

When we first met Jordan + Kristin our conversations were mainly about their wedding. Unfortunately, they weren't too happy with the "wedding video" they received. Sadly, I think this is quite common. Like all industries, there is the good and the bad. There are those who are changing + challenging their industry for the better, raising the bar so to speak, and there are those that have grown complacent. As a collective, we are constantly focusing on improving + learning... That's what it's all about. Regardless of your industry.
So anyways... I got slightly off topic. Once we got a chance to sit down and chat with Jordan + Kristin we decided to do a "trash the dress" for them. What's even better is that this is the first of many :) This is part one of a four part compilation, spring, fall, winter, and summer. Enjoy.

A lot goes into planning a wedding... From the venues, to the guest list, it's a ton to think about. What you don't always think about are those little details that can make your day even more spectacular. From her Manolo Blahniks to the lockets on her flowers that she kept close to her heart, she blended style + personal touches to make sure her day was truly unique.

When we first met Jill + Eric we were thrilled. What got us even more excited, was that Jill's sister and mom were secretly helping us plan a surprise same day edit for them. Now these are the kinds of details we love.

Just to give you a little history... when Eric proposed to Jill he forgot one little thing, to get down on one knee. To this day, Jill will never let him live it down. Well, maybe now she will, Eric definitely made up for it, he had a surprise of his own...
